Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-14

This page explains how Cinelity uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage) to operate the service.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to remember things like whether you're logged in, your preferred language, and other preferences.

2. How We Use Cookies

Cinelity uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication (required) — keeps you logged in via a NextAuth session cookie.
  • Preferences (functional) — remembers your theme (dark/light/medium), language, and other settings via local storage.
  • Stripe (third-party, required for payments) — Stripe sets cookies on its checkout pages for fraud prevention.
  • Mux (third-party, video playback) — sets cookies to optimise video delivery and measure playback quality.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not sell cookie data.

3. Your Choices

Most browsers let you control cookies via settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent login and break core functionality. For preferences and third-party cookies, you can manage these per-domain in browser settings.

For California residents (CCPA): we don't sell your data, so there's no "Do Not Sell" choice to make. You retain all CCPA rights described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Changes

We'll update this page if our cookie usage changes. Material changes will be announced.
